Both camping and glamping are all the rage these days but the definition of the two can get a little blurry. For example some people would day how I camp, in a 40ft fifth wheel, is considered glamping. I however do not see this as glamping but rather just not sleeping on the ground and having running water but still camping.
The definition of camping is simply the activity of spending a vacation living in a camp, tent, or camper. It says camper so I think I am good there.
The definition of glamping is a form of camping involving accommodation and facilities more luxurious than those associated with traditional camping.
Now I guess some would see my fifth wheel as a more luxurious accommodation than a tent but some of these glamping tents are pretty spectacular.
Glamping has really come on the scene in the last few years whereas camping has been around longer than any of us have been alive. Glamping is for those that want to get into nature, don’t want to buy an RV but still need all the luxuries of home.
Here is a list of the best glamping in the US.
When it really comes down to it whether you are glamping or camping you are still getting outdoors which is what is important. If you choose glamping there are a ton of ways to book a place, you can even use sites like AirBnB.
Camping on the other hand you will have to do a little more work but you can make the experience as luxurious as you want.
