There is nothing worse than stepping into the shower and not having any hot water. After a long day riding trails or playing in the water everyone wants their RV hot water heater to work correctly and provide a nice shower. But what happens when that RV hot water heater is not working properly? Here are the top reasons why your RV hot water heater may not be working and what you can check. As always doing regular maintenance on your systems is a must so download our checklist to do the much needed maintenance on your RV.

The first issue could be that you are not getting a signal for your RV hot water heater to ignite. This could start in your electric panel or be a disconnect in some of the wiring. The best thing to do is to trace power to your control board and then out of your control board to ensure you have the right signals.

Next we need to ensure that you are getting propane and that the hot water heater is igniting on propane. If it is not then we may have a signal issue from the control board or an ignitor issue. Both of these can be checked.

There could also be issues with your Therm/E.C.O switch or an element in your system. We always suggest that you ensure you have enough propane and that the flow is proper in order to ignite your system on propane.

If you continue to have issues or need us to come out and test your system just reach out to schedule an appointment.
